Vicky Uslé

Santander, Spain, 1981
Constantly moving through the codes of painting, artist Vicky Uslé investigates the possibilities of abstraction, its poetic potential as well as the interconnections that it establishes with the visual and other aspects, given the fact that her artistic discourse is strongly related to the medium itself but also remains permeable to other conversations.

Her language is a vivid one, a place for experiencing. Her works own certain tension between organicism and geometry, consistency and lightness... one can find a principle of movement in them that brings some instability. The overlapping of brushstrokes, shapes, colors and perspectives creates an infinite net of relationships.

Vicky UslĂ© lives and works between Cantabria and New York. She has exhibited individually in diverse cities of Europe and the United States and her work joins such collections as MNCARS (Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina SofĂa), Simon de Pury, Santander’s Museum of Finde Arts, among others. She was awarded with the V Fine Arts Cantabria Government Award.
