Manel Esclusa is one of the foremost representatives of contemporary Spanish photography. He has attained international recognition, and has been awarded, among others, with the Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie Prize (Arles, 1988) and the LAUS/ADG-FAD Photography Award
(Barcelona, 1989).
