Allison Malinsky (b. 1980, Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA) earned a BFA (2002) and
an MFA (2008) from New York University, the latter a combined degree with the
International Center of Photography (ICP). Malinsky was the first American to hold the
position of Artist in Residence at the University Institute of Art History in Florence,
2023, which was followed by her solo exhibition Spring, 2024, and a forthcoming
catalogue. He has exhibited his work internationally since 2001, and it was in
Barcelona in 2016 when he showed his voluminous three-dimensional paintings for the
first time in his individual exhibition titled Proper Part of the Whole, in Barcelona,
​​especially reviewed in La Vanguardia: Cultura. Among other recognitions, he was
awarded residencies at the prestigious Cooper Union School of Art, the Vermont
Studio Center (Painting Fellowship Award), and the Ox-Bow School of Art (International
Fall Fellowship). In addition to his visual work, he participated in other creative
projects; From 2013 to 2018, she was the host and producer of the podcast New York
City Arts Radio, and in 2021, she became the Founding Director of the artistic project
LA HUERTA, based in Barcelona. Lives and works in Spain since 2010.
