Uniformitarian Assumptions (and other ghosts)
Galeria Carles Taché is pleased to announce the opening of Uniformitarian Assumptions (and other ghosts), a solo show by artist Michael Joo (Ithaca, New York, 1966).
This exhibition is included in the Barcelona Gallery Weekend event held from Thursday September 28th until next December 2017.
According to uniformitarianism in science, "the past is the key to the present." It refers to the notion in natural and physical sciences, especially in geology, of the process of time and metamorphosis. Uniformitarian Assumptions refers to the unstable place where science and religion could be said to meet; where facts and alternative facts compete for our understanding of the present, and material and dialectic merge.
