Galeria Carles Taché

Josep Guinovart

Barcelona, 1927-2007
National Prize of Plastic Arts of Spain (1982) and Cruz de Sant Jordi (1983), Guinovart developed his career in abstract art with an unconventional work, by using large formats and three-dimensional elements almost constantly.
His works are currently exhibited in such prestigious collections as MACBA, Guggenheim Museum in New York, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum or the Fine Arts Museum of Long Island in New York; and in 1994 Espai Guinovart was inaugurated, a museum dedicated to the painter in the village of Agramunt.
Galería Carles Taché has included his painting El Túnel (1985) in the exhibition Tribute to catalan contamporary art.
