Ferran García Sevilla

Palma, 1949
Ferran García Sevilla is an artist initially linked to theory and art criticism, and has been a professor of Fine Arts at various universities. He exhibited for the first time in 1972, initiated in conceptual art (installation Patrius, Patria, Patrium, 1976), ended in painting and graphics, framed in the so-called postmodern art. He usually arranges well-defined figures - often anthropomorphic ones - on neutral backgrounds or with repetitive motifs insistently. It uses rich, vivid and contrasted chromatic ranges, with a simple Language that is sometimes close to primitive art.
He has collaborated with the Galeria Carles Taché by lending his work Moll 9 (2008) for the exhibition Tribute to catalan contamporary art.
