Based between Italy and the States since more than a decade ago, artist Justin Randolph Thompson develops an artistic project that seeks for such questions as cultural displacement or postcolonialism.
Through a very methaporical and alusive language, Thompson dives into historical cultural memory. His projects often oscillate between installation and performance.
Throughout his career, Thompson’s work has been recognized with several awards such as the Louis Comfort Tiffany Award or the Fundación BotÃn Grant for Visual Arts 2013 (both in 2013). He recently performed Hide Beaters in the MNCARS in the context of the In-Sonora festival.
