Luis Baylón

Madrid, 1958
One of the reference names in the Spanish photography context, Luis Baylón is essentially a urban photographer who finds in the streets his natural working place.
Always black and white, his photographs distill naturalness and the scenes he captures with his camera are not prepared or composed but found by random. Baylon´s images are, as Bernard Plossu sustained, “direct reality” without effects nor drama. Throughout his career Baylón has captured unforgettable images about his trips or urban walks and, furthermore, has shaped his own vision of Madrid through the infinity of series that has dedicated to its citizens.
In 2000 Baylón was awarded with the Madrid´s Community Photography Award.
